Increase in Enquiries After Night of Gale Force Winds

Ploughcroft received a six-fold increase in enquiries after a night of gale force winds (overnight April 17-18.)

Managing director Chris Hopkins said: “Our phones have been ringing off the hook this morning following the high winds.  We are seeing high numbers of fascia boards and ridge tiles becoming loose.  Unfortunately with winds over 28mph it’s just not safe to go up on roofs but we’re hoping to make a start on repairs as soon as possible.

“If anything, this proves the importance of regular maintenance of roofs.  It’s been a long hard winter and roofs have taken the brunt of the weather. Homeowners should get their roofs checked and repaired now – leaving it until this winter may mean jobs take longer and cost more money.”
