This bungalow in Hipperholme, Halifax recently had four Velux roof windows replaced in its existing loft conversion. Three of the solar panels on either side of the bungalow were removed in order to gain safe, unrestricted access to the roof windows. Three of the windows were replaced with white centre-pivot, the same size as previously installed.
The small Velux to the front of the building was replaced with a much larger, top-hung roof window which gives unobstructed views and maximises natural daylight. This window rotates 180 degrees for easy cleaning and due to the unrestricted opening area is suitable for emergency escape.
Once the windows were installed, the solar panels were re-instated and recommissioned.
