Complete office refurbishment of first and second floor office space at Whitehall Chambers
Ploughcroft took ownership of Whitehall Chambers in September 2015. At the beginning of the year they made the decision to completely refurbish the offices on the first and second floor. The premises had been used as offices previously but were extremely run down, old fashioned and in need of some serious upgrading and TLC. However, there were some nice original features, such as cast iron fireplaces, which needed restoring and keeping in situ.
Throughout the project there was particular attention paid to the energy efficiency of the building, with the walls and roof being well insulated. Energy efficient LED lighting was installed throughout with PIR sensors in the communal areas.
The beam to the top floor at the rear of the building was removed as it restricted the space in the rooms at the rear of the building and two large Velux windows were installed to flood the rooms with additional light.
The kitchen was moved from the second to the first floor and new, modern units installed. The toilet facilities were updated and a shower room installed for those office workers who run or cycle to work to take advantage of.
The woodwork was renewed in oak and oak doors installed along with a modern oak and chrome balustrade.
The renovation works resulted in seven modern offices chambers and a meeting chamber which are available to professional and entrepreneurial businesses to rent.
