This impressive 1930s stone built detached property in Halifax had a very large un-insulated living space in the attic. As a result, the property was losing a tremendous amount of heat and the energy bills were quite literally going through the roof!
The original Rosemary clay tiles were removed and the roof insulated using TLX Gold multi-foil insulation and insulation board on the pitched roof. The roof was then recovered in Farmhouse Red Gemini Fortecrete tiles.
The roofs U value was reduced from 2.3W/Km2 to 0.25W/Km2.
The total energy saving of carrying out this work is yet to be seen however the customer felt an immediate effect, having to turn the radiators off whilst we were carrying out the work as it got too warm. That’s the power of an ECO ROOF !!
