At Ploughcroft, we have been working on a massive project at 14-16 Corporation Street, Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, since May 2014. Our brief was to renovate two properties that were in a derelict and dangerous condition.
We are proud to announce that we have finished work on 14 Corporation Street. It has been reverted back to domestic dwellings across three floors, perfect for a young family or professional couple looking to move to Sowerby Bridge.
You may recall our update in July 2014 in which we showcased the work so far. From these pictures, you can see the improvements we made to the internal wall insulation and the room in roof insulation which will keep heating bills down in these properties.
We installed a new roof ensuring that it kept with the aesthetics of the buildings next door and installed modern but discreet Velux balcony windows looking out over Corporation Street.
These buildings are heritage buildings, having been occupied by families throughout the 20th Century. Our brief included keeping the look of the renovations similar to the original building externally while bringing it up-to-date internally. With the improvements we have made, the energy certificate of these buildings has been improved from F to C which will have a huge effect on energy bills. We worked out that a family or couple living in this property will enjoy savings of 63%.
You can find out the energy rating of your home by visiting the EPC register.
We’re very pleased with the results of the project so far and we are looking forward to seeing a new family moving into these updated heritage homes. 16 Corporation Street will be completed by Christmas 2014 so look out for more updates in the future.
