The amount of power generated depends on the wind environment of your site. This includes the long term mean wind speed and the distribution of wind speeds around that mean. Sometimes the existence and positioning of nearby obstacles may reduce the wind reaching the turbine or cause turbulence and hinder efficient generation.


The table below gives an estimation of earning and savings combined:

  • Annual mean site wind speed: 5m/s: 21,706kWh/yr = £7000.00 p.a.
  • Annual mean site wind speed: 6m/s: 31,176kWh/yr = £10,000.00 p.a.
  • Annual mean site wind speed: 7m/s: 39,649kWh/yr = £13,000.00 p.a.

This means anything between a 3 to 5 year payback depending on site and installation.
