Harrogate is a spa town that is situated in the county of North Yorkshire, the biggest county in England. It is 10 miles outside of Leeds and is well connected by an intricate railway system and there are also plenty of buses going to and fro. Furthermore, Harrogate is located just on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales making it one of the most pleasant places to live. In fact, Harrogate is so prosperous that it is known to have some of the highest property prices in England with many houses in surrounding villages going for up to 1 million pounds.

The most famous thing about Harrogate has to be the excellent waters that it has, these rich waters attracted sick and wealthy visitors from around the country and this definitely helped contribute to the wealth in Harrogate. The waters are rich in vitamins and minerals and the town slogan is ‘Arx celebris fontibus’ which translate into ‘a citadel famous for its springs’.

When in Harrogate it is essential to go to Bettys Tea Rooms, they use the infamous water to make delicious brews. This is currently owned by the same people who produce Yorkshire tea, a famous tea company in England.

The views in Harrogate are exceptional, there are many different parks and gardens that are well maintained and have been designed beautifully. One of the most popular and recognised parks is The Stray, it consists of 200 acres of beautiful landscape and there is also a fun fair here twice in the summer which attracts a lot of visitors.
