Bradford is a large city that is situated just to the West of Leeds and has an estimated population of 293,000. Bradford has an active airport which it shares with the city of Leeds and is called Leeds and Bradford airport.

Throughout the industrial revolution Bradford was a boomtown, its production of textiles resulted it in being nicknamed ‘the wool capital of the world’ and the local supply of iron ore, coal and soft water significantly helped in its manufacturing industry.

There is plenty of Victorian architecture peppered throughout the city of Bradford and one of those buildings is the city hall itself. Bradford has a rich heritage and the oldest building is the cathedral which is an extremely impressive building. Unfortunately, in Bradford very few medieval buildings have survived, one which is still standing today is Bolling Hall which is a listed building and has now being converted into a museum.

Bradford is home to the first ever IMAX cinema in the UK, presented stunning graphics on a super large screen it is a place to go to enjoy our current limits on cinematography. It is also known for the sporting achievements, the Bradford Bulls are one of the most successful rugby league teams in the world, winning the World Club Champion ship three times since 2002. The Bradford Bulls stadium is called Odsal.

Famous actor Adrian Edmondson was born in Bradford and also pop music singer Gareth Gates who found stardom after appearing on the television show Pop Idol.
