Situated on the west coast of England just by the Irish Sea, Blackpool is a very popular seaside town with an estimated population of 142,900. This makes it the third biggest settlement in the North of England. Perhaps known for its entertainment value, Blackpool is also a very popular destination for family days out, stag and hen dos and residents alike.

Blackpool is also famous for erecting a monument, something unlike anything there’s been in the UK. It’s called The Blackpool Tower and somewhat resembles the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Measuring in at 158 metres tall it is definitely one of Britain’s most iconic landmarks.

Blackpool was one of the first places to have electrical street lighting, which made it shine out above all others. In addition to this, there is a very popular attraction named the Blackpool Illuminations where the streets are flooded with lights in all different shapes and sizes and attract a lot of people to this seaside town. Furthermore, Blackpool also houses the infamous Blackpool Pleasure Beach theme park which is ideal for both kids and adults. Not only that but a rollercoaster here named ‘The Big One’ or more commonly ‘The Pepsi Max’ has broken records. When it first opened it was the tallest, steepest and fastest rollercoaster in any theme park in the world! Not forgetting of course everyone’s favourite tasty souvenir, the famous and delicious Blackpool rock.
